Sisterhood of the World Blogger Awards – some questions answered

Sisterhood Awards

“The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award recognizes the unique voices of women bloggers around the world.”

The delightful Sammie of The Annoyed Thyroid gave me a Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award, it’s one of those things that goes around in bloggy circles. Basically, what it means is that I get to answer 10 questions of Sammie’s choosing and, if you are interested, you get to read the answers.  It’s a way of finding out a bit more about the person behind the blog.  Sammie has come up with some crackers that I’ve had to think a bit to answer.  Here we go then…

1. Savoury or sweet?

Hmm, savoury until about 9pm when it’s all about chocolate then.

2. My food nemesis is tofu. What’s yours?

I can take or leave tofu but I really hate fresh tomato.  I love all other types of tomato especially sun dried and tomato based sauces but I can’t do the fresh tomato seeds, something about the texture I think.  Also not a fan of offal either.

3. What’s your speciality a la maison?

At the moment I’m right into homemade granola, I pride myself on my Christmas biscotti and I’m always roasting a chicken but I have to say boiled eggs & soldiers of course!!

Boiled Eggs & Soldiers

4. If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?

Eggs

5. If you could have dinner with a famous person, who would it be and where would you go?

Audrey Hepburn & we would go to somewhere fancy in Positano, Italy (well if I’m bringing her back from the dead we may as well go all out)!

6. What dish would you make if you were auditioning for Masterchef?

Oooh hard one, umm I’d have to keep it simple and I’d need to use the Thermomix, see this is why I could never actually audition for Masterchef, I couldn’t decide!  Let’s say a lightly pan fried white fish with a “smear” (hate that word) of my special green sauce and an amazing salad including goats fetta, lemon zest, avocado and leafy greens & roasted sweet potatoes. I’m going to test that out now and see if it’s any good!

7. What’s the best restaurant you’ve ever been to?

Another hard one Sammie, I love eating out.  I’ve been to fancy restaurants but my all time favourite meal was at a family run restaurant in an out of the way place near Bologna, Italy. We were back packers at the time so perhaps I had rose coloured glasses on and the fact that it wasn’t a cheese baguette on a train, it was a simple but absolutely amazing meal and the atmosphere was so welcoming.  I wish I could remember it’s name.

8. What’s the best holiday you’ve ever had?

A safari in Botswana.  Something I hope everyone gets to experience in their life time, magical.

9. Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Both but not by choice!  I’m a night owl but get woken quite early in the mornings by our eldest, sleep is the one thing I really wish I had more of.

10. What’s one thing you would never do or never eat?

I would never bungy jump and I’d never eat eyeballs!

Thanks to Sammie for passing the award on.  Usually what happens next is I think up 10 questions and nominate 10 bloggers for the award too but I think all the bloggers I know have been nominated already so I’d love to hear your answers instead to any of Sammies questions.  Take your pick and share away.

Tell us a bit more about yourself, go on now, don’t be shy….

I would never bungy jump either! Or skydive. I remember going up the Eiffel Tower – I didn’t leave the centre! (The view was still lovely, I assure you.)

Oh I wouldn’t sky dive either. I once went paragliding (tandem) in my youth but got air sick!!

I wouldn’t bungee jump either. I’m quite happy getting my thrills from safe activities. 🙂
I think I would choose pizza as my lifetime meal. So may different ways to eat it. 🙂

I am a massive Audrey Hepburn fan too and would love to have dinner with her in Italy!! Can you invite me too? That’s interesting about your hatred of raw tomato. You best not go to La Tomatina then. It’s so hard to get the seeds out of your hair and the stench of your skin. Trust me. #teamIBOT
