Crunchy Yoghurt Pots

Back to school lunch box ideas

There isn’t too much to say about these super simple Crunchy Yoghurt Pots, so I won’t other than they are a great, quick & easy way to get fruit, dairy & protein into the kids during the school day or for yourself for that matter.  I did see some lunch box sized insulated yoghurt pots in the supermarket the other day which may be worth investing in or as long as you have an ice brick or frozen drink in the lunch box to keep the yoghurt cool it should be alright to be eaten at recess or “little” break time in the hot weather.

The “crunchy” comes from chopped up apple mixed through it as I find my kids like eating things with a bit of crunch.  One of mine only likes green apples and the other will only eat pink ladies (!) so DIYing these makes sure that there is no reason for the “I don’t like it” to happen, doesn’t stop it but there is no reason for it at least! The beauty of these pots are that you can use any yoghurt you like & if sugar free or dairy free is important you can ensure that is what you are putting in to it as opposed to store bought flavoured yoghurts where you aren’t really sure. Then load up with favourite fruits, pop a spoon in the lunch box and away they go with a nutritious snack during the day.

Easy peasy & a bit yummy too!

Will yours eat yoghurt at school? Any quick & easy lunch box ideas to share?

Great idea, Vicki! Yoghurt is definitely a lunchbox staple of mine. I usually take a little container of natural Greek yoghurt with fresh passionfruit (in a separate container to add on top later as I find it gets watery otherwise) or a little bit of apple puree, cinnamon and LSA. So yummy and quite filling too from the protein in the yoghurt, so it gets me through until lunch!
