Kale Chips

Kale Chips, I know that they are “in” right no but we love them in the Boiled Eggs & Soldiers house.  We don’t do anything fancy to them but the girls love the salt and the crunch of them, whatever I’m happy that they like them!  I really like them.

As a side dish for a family of 4 I usually use 3 – 4 stems of curly kale, give them a wash, flick of the excess water and then rip off the leaves (the stems don’t taste so good) put them on baking tray lined with baking paper.  Drizzle on some olive oil and a generous grinding of sea or rock salt.

Put them in the oven to bake on 180 C for 15 minutes turning once or twice (or really in with whatever else you have cooking in the there at the time, if the heat is higher then put them in for less and watch them if lower maybe it might take 20 minutes just keep an eye on them and pull them out just before they go brown).

That’s it!
