Merry Christmas Mash Up – a place to link up or find all things Christmas and how about a Pomegranate Caipiroska to welcome you in

As it’s the party season a few of my new blogging friends have got together to have a “Linky Party” sharing all things Christmas to give you ideas, inspiration, insights, some reading or just a bit of escapism.

What is a linky party? Yes, well I needed to find that out, but it’s when a group of blogger “hosts”  invite blog readers to “link up” their blog posts on the same topic if they have one or, as readers, it’s a way to find out more information on a topic in one spot.  In this case the topic is anything and everything about Christmas!

Having experienced such shocking sadness in Sydney this week a linky party on Christmas might be a nice distraction as we try to come to grips with the unfathomable.

So please come join our party, you are all invited and I’ve even put together a welcome Christmas Cocktail for you as my first contribution to the link up. Want to try out this Pomegranate Caipiroska?  It’s summery, refreshing and a little bit yum!

Pomegranate Caipiroska

5 minutes

2 glasses

  • 1 fresh lime
  • 1/2 C vodka
  • 3 Tbsp sugar syrup (you can buy or make your own by stirring 1 C caster sugar with 1 C water in a saucepan over a medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring it to the boil & then simmer uncovered for about 5 minutes until it is syrupy! Cool in the pan and then pour into a bottle or airtight container. Refrigerate. It will make about 350 mls)
  • 1/2 C pomegranate juice
  • 1 C ice cubes
  • 1 C sparkling mineral water
  • 2 Tbsp pomegranate seeds

  1. Cut the lime in half and crush one half (with a muddler/rolling pin in a cocktail shaker if you have one otherwise just squeeze the juice out of it into a glass)
  2. Add the vodka, sugar syrup and pomegranate juice, half the ice and half the sparkling water, shake it all about
  3. Pour into a glass with the remainder of the ice and top up with the remainder of the sparkling water.
  4. Stir in the pomegranate seeds
  5. Garnish with lime wedges
  6. Cheers! Enjoy

Now, if you have one, we would love you to link up your favourite Christmas post from this year, if not no worries but either way please pop around and say hello to some of the other lovely linkers. The party has just begun and links will close on Boxing Day so plenty of time to visit some of your favourite bloggers.

Link up here in the link below or over on Calm to ConniptionOur Urban Box, Life at Number Five, The Thud, From the Left Field, Stephs Joy or You had us at Hello.

It does not matter where you link as your link will show up in all 8 places.

Thank you and Merry Christmas! x
