Allspice Lamb & Zucchini Pasta


Did you catch “Your Weekly Feed” this week?  No? Well this was my contribution to the sharing the meal love around. Allspice Lamb & Zucchini Pasta, a simple and tasty mid week meal that really takes no time at to make and even had my fusspot shovelling it in.

I don’t often use lamb mince, except for things like koftas and a family favourite my Honey Mint Lamb Meatballs, but for something a bit different to the usual spag bol this lamb & zucchini pasta is a good one to add to the repertoire.

I used a gluten free penne because that’s what we need to do here but obviously any pasta you like will work.

Allspice Lamb & Zucchini Pasta


  • 300 g packet penne pasta (or pasta of your choice I used a gluten free one)
  • 2 zucchini's grated (in Thermomix Speed 5 / 6 seconds)
  • 400 g lamb mince
  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 1 fresh long red chilli, finely sliced or 1/2 red capsicum
  • 1/2 C grated parmesan (Speed 7 / 10 seconds)
  • Lemon wedges to serve


  1. Cook pasta as per packet instructions and drain. Using your hands squeeze any excess liquid from the zucchini and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the mince and cook for about 5 minutes until it's browned and break up any lumps. Add the garlic & allspice and stir through.
  3. Add the zucchini (capsicum if using) and cooked pasta into the frypan and continue cooking for about 3 - 5 minutes. If using chilli add it and the parmesan and stir through.
  4. Season with salt & pepper, plate up and top with some more parmesan and lemon wedges.
  5. Dinner done!

    This looks like it would be a hit with the hubby and wee man! What brand of gluten free pasta do you use? I bought a rice (I think) penne the other day and it was awful!

      Usually I get the orgran brand – I can’t remember what this penne was though sorry but I probably got it from About Life – it may have been their house brand (much better than the supermarket one).
