Vinomofo to your door

Vinomofo wines

This product talk is brought to you by Nuffnang and Vinomofo

Have you heard of Vinomofo?  If you have I’m sure you will be nodding along in agreement with this review (would love to know what you think, actually) and if not I think you will be wanting Vinomofo to your door as soon as you finish reading this.  If you follow my Instagram you may have noticed that I was enjoying some taste testing over the weekend of the wines that we were sent.  Perfect timing too as some dear girlfriends came to visit to get their own experience of the Tropical North & experience it they did!

Cheers Vinomofo

Cheers! So lovely to have old friends visit

So who and what is Vinomofo you ask?   In a nutshell, the easiest way to describe them, is a wine club but with a difference.  If the Vinomofo people themselves don’t love the wines they don’t sell them so they have to past the taste testing approval of the Vinomofo buying team first. (That sounds like a good job, I wonder if they are hiring?) They work with the best producers in the world to find the wines they love, they buy a certain amount of stock and once it’s gone it’s gone so you need to be in it to get a taste of them.

One of the many cool things about Vinomofo are their secret deals .  The deals are on awesome wines at unbelievable prices that you won’t see them advertised at anywhere.  The only way Vinomofo gets their hand on these wines at the prices they do is by agreeing to keep the identity of the wine and the producer secret.  As a member of Vinomofo you need to keep the secret too.

While most of their deals are limited, they also co-produce their own branded wines labelled, “Kinda Independent Wine Company” that aren’t available anywhere else. They all seem to be “Kinda Fabulous”! These are always in stock and if you want to be in the know here is where you can find them.

Anyway, Friday night when my friends arrived, after the obligatory G&T’s on the deck to repell the mozzies, as you do, we tried the “Art Of War” Shiraz from the Barossa Valley.

Art of War Vinomofo wine

Nothing war like about it really, smooth and delicious as it went down. I haven’t been drinking a lot of red in the heat up here but this one hit the spot perfectly. I also have to mention the very cool labelling that Vinomofo does, every bottle I’ve seen has a great label and some are quite funny too.

Now, in the interests of the responsible service of alcohol we had the “Art of War” with a dinner of Satay Chicken on top of my Kale & Cabbage Coleslaw (it’s really yummy and much nicer than it sounds, truly).

The photo unfortunately isn’t really doing anything justice but it was all good!

We’ve got a bit of a Sunday afternoon thing going on here at the moment that I like to term “Sunday Sips” (or “let’s pretend the weekend isn’t over just yet Sips“!).  It was the perfect opportunity to try out the “Bisou Bisou” a Blanc de Blancs from the Yarra Valley.

Bisou Bisou sparkling wine from vinomofo

As the label says one kiss is never enough (bisou is French for kiss), we were all really impressed with this one.  Some Australian Sparkling can be not so nice don’t you think? This one I will be getting again for sure.

High tea with Vinomofo sparkling

This weekend it was a kind of “high tea Sunday Sips” with my Lime, Coconut & Honey Olive Oil Cake, (goes well in lunch boxes too, the cake that is just to be clear!), olive bread from the local growers market, olive oil for dipping and some tamari almonds.  The bubbles matched all of them very well but much like the folk at Vinomofo, I’m no wine snob, so bubbles match most things in my book!

Once a member of Vinomofo, (sign up is free), you can pick your own wines or choose various club options of wine selections to be delivered to your door (there are no lock in contracts) or they also sell them as a mixed 6 pack (or dozen) called the Collaboration Case. There are daily deals too.  Lots of options to choose from.

Basically the people at Vinomofo think that everyone should get to drink amazing wine and by keeping it real more people get to try some great wines.  After I first heard about them I signed up and now after tasting a couple of bottles I’m subscribing.  We don’t always get easy access to good wines where we live so by having the Vinomofo people pick a selection for us we are guaranteed to still be able to enjoy a great variety of wines delivered to our door. Cheers to that!

Have you heard of Vinomofo before? Are you in a wine club? Care for a wine, what’s your pick?

I’ve heard such good things about Vinomofo. I choose wine by how cool the label looks and how much I love the name, the wackier the name the better the wine, in my experience anyway! This has to go down in history as some of the most delicious “research” ever!

Yeah, I’m a sucker for hipster design, and Vinomofo has to the best ever name for a wine business. I also quite like wine…. In case that wasn’t already obvious….

This might be just the “club” for you then. I’m reluctant to throw out the bottles as the labels are so cool , will just need to order some more.

I’ve never heard of Vinomofo before and I’m not in a wine club, but perhaps I should join. I just love those funky labels. I’m partial to a NZ sav blanc myself. I like my men and my wines from NZ 😉

I joined up! I’m also partial to a NZ Sav Blanc but men from North QLD it seems! I hope you get to wind down now you’ve finished up at work and take some time for you. x
