Your Weekly Feed Turns 1

Your Weekly Feed Birthday Cake

Today is the day, Hip, Hip Hooray, Your Weekly Feed Turns 1!  Kim & I can’t believe that this series has been going for a whole year.  From the bottom of our bloggy hearts we thank you so much for following along with this series. For those who have linked up and shared recipes thank you, for those who visit each week (or when you can) & leave us comments thank you, for those who have made and eaten the recipes thank you and for those who just look at the photo’s and drool thank you too.

Of course there is cake, made by the clever Kim, here’s a virtual slice for you…  Her friend Sarah ofd Sarah’s Cake Creations,  made the edible topper, how cool is that! If you want one of your own she has a Facebook shop here.

Your Weekly Feed 1st Birthday

We have a birthday announcement, we have decided to mark the occasion with (of course the cake) but also by moving the day we go live with Your Weekly Feed to Fridays.

This will be the last time we open up the link on a Sunday, instead we are moving to Fridays (actually bloggers will be able to link from Thursday nights) because we thought it would be more useful, especially for those who meal plan and do their weekly shop over the weekend.

Also while we have mainly been focussed on sharing dinner ideas we know that is not the only meal you make each week. We are opening Your Weekly Feed up to all meals so please pop in for not only your dinner ideas but breakfast, lunch, especially the dreaded lunch boxes and snacks and cakes too, really anytime time food.  Your Weekly Feed is meant to be used as a resource to help us all get through the cooking week!

Speaking of which, from last week all the slow cooker or one pot recipes caught my eye.  It’s not remotely cold here but somewhere in the world it is!!

The Annoyed Thyroid shared her Slow Cooker Chilli Con Carne with Corn Dumplings all the yum wrapped up in the one!  A special thank you so Sammie who has been linking up to YWF right from the begining and has been a wonderful support with fabulous recipes week in, week out plus she is a beautiful lady inside and out too (and makes great fudge!). x

Slow Cooker Chilli with Corn Dumplings

Create Bake Make is a super duper website with an abundance of fantastic recipes, I can’t believe that this Slow Cooker Curried Beef & Vegetables is the first time Lauren has ventured into slow cooking though.  Her life will be changed as it will when she has her third baby very soon! All the best Lauren and thank you so much for your support too, it’s invaluable.

Slow Cooker Curried Beef & Vegetables

Go Eat and Repeat shared her One Pot Kung Pao Chicken dinner that can be made in 32 minutes (quicker than waiting for take away!!) so it will be featuring in our house soon I’m sure.

One Pot Kung Pao

Not dinner but hello Oreo! My girls are massive Oreo fans, sadly for them they don’t appear in the house very often. These homemade Oreo’s by Kiwi Country Girl however may change all that!

Homemade Oreos

That’s it for my picks for the birthday week.  I’m popping on over to Land of Zonkt to see what Kim has chosen and to share a virtual glass of bubbly & a piece of that yummy cake with her.

Don’t forget to tune in this Friday morning for the next Your Weekly Feed.

Happy Linky Birthday – thanks for a year full of deliciousness and being the hostess with the mostest! Thanks for your kind words and the shout out on my chilli, I left hubby with a stack of it in the freezer. Heaven forbid he should go hungry while I’m overseas! I love the idea of Friday night live for YWF – see you then!

A whole year of great food ideas, well done. I think it was via Your Weekly Feed that I found Sammie’s Swet Potatosouo which is a firm favourite AND features in my 25 most-fave dinner ideas (which I’ve linked here). How’s that for a wonderful loop?

I’ll be making her corn dumplings next!!

Thanks, as ever, for hosting, Vicki and Kim. x

I love that YWF has worked for you as that is exactly why we set it up a year ago! I can’t wait to make those corn dumplings either and I will be making my way through your top 25 list too. Thanks for linking it up. It’s our absolute pleasure to host. x

Happy birthday to YWF! I know the next year of linking will bring just as much deliciousness, ladies! Thank you so much for all the hard work you have put in behind the scenes to keep us linking each week. Absolutely love the cake Kim made to celebrate, and that edible topper is just beyond cool. What a great way to celebrate 🙂 Great picks too Vicki, love that slow cooker recipes are coming back in with the cooler weather. In our house we now have not only one but two slow cookers…one 5L and one 3L so we can make two things at once. Oh dear, I think I’m actually obsessed 😛 Love the look of Sammie’s and Lauren’s recipes!
