Lime & Thyme Gin & Tonic
Jumping straight in… for March’s instalment of the “try a different way to have gin each month” challenge for 2017 we went with a simple but extremely refreshing Lime & Thyme Gin & Tonic. If you are not sure why I’m referring to said challenge it was sparked during our holiday over summer, January’s tipple was this with the story behind it & February’s this fancy one and now we are on to March.
Seeing that it’s St Patricks Day I’ve gone with a green theme for this cocktail. Not that I have any Irish in me at all but happy to support National Days in any little way I can plus I like the way Lime & Thyme rhyme!
I do have a selection of gins and always happy to try out new brands to but for today’s I went with my favourite, Hendricks. Do you have a favourite?
There is nothing too tricky about making this cocktail.
Pour a nip of gin & add a sprig of thyme
Add ice and top with tonic water
Squeeze a bit of lime juice in and add a slice
Use the thyme as a swizzle stick
Sit back and watch the sunset and dream of summer days (or if you are living in the Tropics like us, dreaming of sunny winter temps of below 35 degrees and no humidity!)
Cheers!
I could totally smash one of those. I love the thyme n lime combo – just perfect for St Patrick’s Day!
